Roger and Carolyn

Roger and Carolyn Hixon have served over thirty-five years with Trans World Radio. The Hixons were accepted on staff with TWR in 1970 and began their first term of service in April, 1971 and were commissioned as missionaries to serve with TWR on the island of Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles.

The Hixon’s two daughters, Jodi and Sherri, were born on  Bonaire and now live with their families in North Carolina. The Hixon’s have three grandchildren.

Roger’s assignments on Bonaire were Studio Program sign-on, Purchasing, Shipping/Receiving, Bookkeeping/Finance, and Field Treasurer.

Carolyn enjoyed hospitality hosting and assisted in the English department doing follow up with radio listeners.

The Hixon’s finished their over-seas assignment on the island of Bonaire in April of 1988. After a short deputation they continued their missionary service in TWR's corporate office in New Jersey. In 1990, TWR relocated their corporate offices to Cary, North Carolina and the Hixon family moved to Garner, NC.

Carolyn enjoyed eighteen years in TWR's Cary office in the Donor Services department. She retired from TWR in March 2008. Roger was Director of Purchasing/Shipping in his Cary assignment. Roger retired from Trans World Radio July 1, 2006.

Roger and Carolyn are active charter members of Christ Baptist Church in Raleigh, North Carolina.
