Joining God’s Work in the World: Emily, TWR Global Content Social Media intern
Introducing Emily White, a senior at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina, who is also a native of the state and a major in marketing and communications. Emily is a TWR content creator and social media summer intern with the Global Content team. Her work in social media will have her collaborating with some of the TWR radio station partnerships and broadcast teams around the world.
Emily has been familiar with TWR her whole life because her aunt served with the ministry for 20 years. She is honored that God called her to join the same ministry. Emily says, “I am most looking forward to being in a workplace that also serves as a Christian community and the opportunity that it creates for building relationships with people that I wouldn’t get to otherwise.”
“During my internship, I am most excited to build connections with TWR staff from around the world. My favorite thing about TWR is how much people care about each other and are willing to sacrifice for the advancement of the kingdom of God.”
At Gardner-Webb, Emily is a midfielder on the women’s lacrosse team. This year, she experienced an injury that required surgery. As she recovers, she shares that her biggest challenge “will probably be battling tiredness and staying consistent while learning [her] new role.”
Though her injury and surgery have been challenging, Emily continues to be a bright light to others. She shares what she considers to be her favorite Bible verse during this season of her life:
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:6).
Although many TWR interns are from out of state and have to relocate to the ministry’s Americas headquarters in Cary, North Carolina, Emily is fortunate to be from just up the road in Apex. That means she can live at home and enjoy more time with family while still being close to the office.
Emily’s supervisor, Scott Hollinger, global content creation team leader says her contributions are already having a positive influence on the Global Content team.
“One area our Global Content team has needed assistance in is communicating our daily broadcast ministry via social media. Emily has joined our team as our social media intern. As such, she will spend the summer working with our broadcast teams in South Africa and Singapore developing social media posts that highlight each ministry and help the listener get to know the wider ministry of TWR more effectively. Emily is a breath of fresh air and has a lot of great ideas that are being implemented in our social media.”
Emily’s heart for the Lord’s work and service makes her a perfect summer intern for TWR’s Content Team needs. In her downtime, Emily hopes to enjoy some of her favorite things: pickleball, reading, great waffles and spending time outside.
