TWR Country Focus: Colombia
Lessons learned young often have the longest-lasting impact.
That was the case with Juliana (not her real name) in Colombia, who sent a letter to TWR to tell about her lifelong connection with the radio ministry.
“I want to thank you for all of your interesting studies,” her message began.
When Juliana was 8 years old, her father kept a Bible on a desk in his shop, where he sold hats. Every day in their little hometown, the father, who wasn’t even a believer, tuned into TWR broadcasts on a little radio.
“I was not a Christian either, but I was made to listen to your program,” Juliana wrote. “I liked it even though I didn’t understand much.”
Sometimes her father would ask would ask her to read the Bible to him. And that’s how Juliana and her dad listened to TWR programs until she was 12 or 13 and later moved away from the town.
“Today I am 42, and at the age of 38, I found you again on BBN Radio, and the memories were brought back to me,” she wrote. “I remembered my father and, of course, your programs. I thank God because now I am a Christian. I have my children listen, and they, too, like your programs.”
