Myanmar, formerly Burma, is a Southeast Asian country where discrimination against Christians is strong and believers live with the possibility of persecution. The youth of Myanmar struggle under poverty and the threat of other hardships, such as war and natural disasters.

To give Myanmar’s youth the guidance they need, TWR in Myanmar is producing a 15-minute, weekly radio program in the Burmese language focusing on basic biblical principles taught through the Bible’s stories and parables. Designed in a magazine format, the program includes sermons, song requests, and Bible teaching. Our prayer is that through the broadcast, Myanmar’s youth will be inspired to learn Christian doctrines and values, such as responsibility, kindness, and compassion.

The Women of Hope programs for Myanmar include not only the Burmese-language broadcasts but also the Sgaw Karen ethnic language. These programs provide women with useful, practical teaching on subjects such as personal care and care for children while also sharing about God’s love and mercy.
