This letter comes from a young Sudanese believer.

I am a 23-year old Sudanese guy who once belonged to a [religious] militant group that targets Christians in Southern Sudan. I had been given a Bible by a friend whom I cursed at the time, but since I had to go to the warfront, I kept it with me. At night, I had a small radio that I listened to. I tuned to a broadcasting radio station that was talking about Jesus, God’s Son, who came to bring peace and love to the world. I stopped and listened. It was the first time in my life I heard something like that.
When the program finished, I remembered my Bible. I started reading it under my covers, and something magical happened that night. I didn’t feel the hatred that I used to feel to the Christians anymore. The next day, I made up a story so I could leave. I went home and started my journey of finding the truth. I kept listening to my radio to learn more about Christ. By divine appointment, I met the Lord and he cleansed me from my sins!
The militia is still demanding me to join, and they are keeping an eye on me, because they know there is something different about me. Please pray for me, because I need wisdom to deal with the situation. It’s not easy for them to let go of someone who knows a lot about them! Thank you for your support. I will try to write as much as I can, although it can be difficult. May God bless you!
