"I saw my never before, and I learned God's grace like never before."  Did you notice the word "learned."  So how do we "learn" God's grace?  For Gracia Burnham, it happened while being held captive for over a year by a militant terrorist group in the Philippines.  But, I would say that it often takes a very difficult trial for most of us to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus.  Remember what Paul writes in Romans 5:3-5 (NJKV), "...we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."
