Each day, people from more than 50 language groups around the world are able to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and find edification and encouragement in their faith through the teaching ministry of Dr. Charles Stanley, senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Stanley’s ministry, In Touch, began in 1972 when a half-hour program called The Chapel Hour began airing on two local Atlanta television stations. In 1978, the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) picked up the program (by then renamed In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley) for distribution by satellite. In a single week, the audience of the program grew from a few thousand in the Atlanta area to a nationwide audience. In the years following, In Touch expanded its outreach through radio broadcasts, newsletters, Internet-based ministry and portable media devices. Today, Dr. Stanley’s teachings are available on more than 1,200 radio outlets and 130 television stations/networks.

In 1992, In Touch made a significant step by beginning its international ministry with its first non-English-language broadcasts, in Spanish, in the U.S. Since then, In Touch Ministries has undertaken a continued international initiative that includes translated versions of Dr. Stanley’s messages into more than 100 languages. Named The Acts Challenge after Acts 1:8, In Touch’s international ministry also includes language projects in more than 50 languages.

Today, In Touch Ministries continues to expand and to pursue its mission to “lead people worldwide into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and to strengthen the local church,” and TWR is pleased and privileged to be able to provide a global media platform for this ministry of life and hope for people of many nations.
