In today's Footsteps, missionary Chuck Linkston got our attention when he said that he "had four death threats" while planting Churchfreo in Freemantle, Australia.  Should we be surprised?  Jesus told his disciples, "If the world hates you, know that is has hated me before it hated you...A servant is not greater than his master.  If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you" (John 15:18-20, ESV).  When we follow Jesus, especially to the mission field, we will face persecution.  We can expect it!
