TWR (also known as Trans World Radio) has joined forces with Kansas-based Bott Radio Network to help cover the spiritually needy country of Cuba with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

A four-week on-air fundraising campaign to raise $25,000 has begun and includes compelling radio spots on Bott’s network of 90 stations in 15 states. Additionally, a strategically positioned banner announcement on points people toward an online microsite where they can give toward TWR’s Bonaire Power Upgrade project to help reach Cuba.

“Our friends at Bott Radio not only understand the importance of getting the Word of God into people’s lives domestically, but they recognize the significance of sharing the gospel message outside the country,” said John Summerville, TWR’s director of Radio Station Partnerships. “People in Cuba need God’s truth, and we’re working together to see that happen. We’re thankful that Bott has come alongside TWR in this momentous project.”

For 50 years, TWR’s high-powered AM transmitting location on the Caribbean island of Bonaire has been speaking hope to Latin America and transforming lives. But at the edges of TWR’s broadcast reach, millions must strain to hear the teaching they can’t grow without, and millions more can’t hear this lifeline to the gospel, sound doctrine, and spiritual maturity at all. TWR is endeavoring to increase the transmitter signal strength from 100,000 watts to 450,000 watts.

Currently, TWR’s signal from Bonaire is strong in the eastern third of Cuba, fair most of the time in central Cuba, but not strong enough in western Cuba. Thousands of house church pastors and other listeners are praying and pleading with TWR for a stronger signal from Bonaire to bring clear biblical teaching. The total cost for this vital project is $3.8 million.

Since its founding in 1962, Bott Radio Network (BRN) has grown from one radio station to a leader in quality Christian talk radio. BRN now broadcasts to a potential audience of 51 million people. BRN’s programs can be accessed anytime worldwide online at the BRN website and via apps for mobile devices.
