Peer pressure can be a beautiful thing when you’re being pressured in the right direction. Yet, in the case of Madihah, a high school student in Eritrea, her friends were determined to see her waste her life. Their voices were loud and persuasive and they were pushing her deeper and deeper into immorality. As she accelerated downhill, she had no one to help her.

However, amid the cacophony of voices, a true friend and peer recently appeared, introducing her to TWR’s radio ministry. She’s now listening regularly and her life is changing. Through the broadcasts and God’s word, she is developing the strength and confidence to resist and even protest against her peer group.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” Madihah has experienced this new life. She says, “The lessons on the radio broadcasts are creating a new person inside of me – a new person with a new view of life and new way of thinking. The merciful Lord has visited me in my troubles and tribulations, and is setting me free from sin and bad influences.”

Another soul has been redeemed by Jesus through the radio waves. Now Eritrea has one more voice that can call out in the darkness and lead others to the one who changes lives. That is exactly what Madihah intends to do. “I am determined to reach the ones who are suffering from the same problems I had experienced. The ministry has a lot to do: to save lives, to bring people out of the darkness and to set the youth free from immoral practices.”
