The Avellas are far from strangers to TWR. Karen, the daughter of TWR missionaries Dave and Flo Carlson, grew up in Monaco and South Africa, then later served with TWR herself in Guam. It was there that she met and married Jim.
Together the Avellas served in Honduras with Bible Basics International, then with TWR in Johannesburg. They then lived and served with BBI in Florida for several years in order to be closer to Dave and Flo, though they continued to feel a draw to the ministry of TWR.
Jim and Karen will once again be serving on Guam; Jim will be working on the Content and Program Traffic Management team, and Karen will help out as she is needed and able.
