Denny and Susie

Denny and Susie Milgate and their two daughters, Tyeise and Samantha, moved to Bonaire in 1966 when the construction had just started on the main studio building. A third daughter, Nancy, was born on Bonaire.

Susie is the daughter of ABWE missionaries to Brazil.  She worked with the Portuguese staff on translating Back to the Bible into Portuguese and monitored Portuguese programs before they were aired.

Denny has a degree in electrical engineering and was working with Motorola in New York State when they were called to TWR.  He served as a studio operator, an English program host and was on the studio equipment maintenance team.

In 1972, the Milgates returned to the U.S. where Denny was an announcer at WMHR, Syracuse, NY.  From 1974-1976, Denny hosted and produced the World Religious News broadcast for the National Religious Broadcasters. Between 1976-1990, the Milgates created and produced their own author and missionary interview program called “Firsthand,” which was syndicated on over more than 150 Christian stations.

In 1990, Denny and Susie moved to North Carolina to rejoin TWR at the Cary office. Denny wrote and produced public relations radio spots for TWR while Susie cared for the Lodge and worked at the reception desk.

Since 2001, Denny has been working with the Vienna office, producing radio programs and web resources as part of  TWR’s Member Care Media team. The Milgates also keep former TWR staff informed through the “Alumni Network.”

Denny also hosts a 5 day-a-week broadcast, Wisdom For The Heart, which is heard on about 130 outlets and includes some TWR stations. He also serves as announcer for the Truth in the Test Tube broadcast.
