TWR and Dallas-based KCBI-FM have joined forces to help cover the spiritually needy country of Cuba with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  A six-week on-air fundraising campaign to raise $15,000 has begun and includes compelling radio spots on KCBI. A prominent display banner on www.kcbi.org points people toward an online project page where they can give toward TWR’s Bonaire Power Upgrade project to help reach Cuba.

“As a Great Commission radio station, KCBI not only reaches out to North Texas with the Gospel of Christ, but is thrilled to be partnering with TWR to share the hope of Jesus and his saving power to hurting and oppressed people in Cuba,” said KCBI General Manager Matt Austin. “Radio penetrates places where missionaries sometimes can't go, so we're very excited about this strategy.”

For 50 years, TWR’s high-powered AM transmitting location on the Caribbean island of Bonaire has been speaking hope to Latin America and transforming lives. But at the edges of TWR’s broadcast reach, millions must strain to hear the teaching they can’t grow without, and millions more can’t hear this lifeline to the gospel. TWR is endeavoring to increase the transmitter signal strength from 100,000 watts to 450,000 watts.

Currently, TWR’s signal from Bonaire is strong in the eastern third of Cuba, fair most of the time in central Cuba, but not strong enough in western Cuba. House church pastors and other listeners are praying and pleading with TWR for a stronger signal from Bonaire to bring clear biblical teaching. The total cost for this vital project is $3.8 million.

Operated by First Dallas Inc., KCBI Radio broadcasts at 90.1 FM on the dial and blends encouraging contemporary music with solid biblical teaching. The station is non-profit and relies on support from listeners, business underwriters and other ministry partners.
