Leadership Development

Trans World Radio's mission involves assisting the Church in fulfilling the Great Commission through mass media so that lasting fruit is produced. To accomplish this, TWR has implemented a Global Strategic Plan, with one key initiative focusing on leadership development.

Strengthening the faith of new believers and preparing fledgling leaders have always been trademarks of TWR’s work. This is carried out in a plethora of different ways. Daily programs are broadcast to provide training and systematic teaching to pastors and lay leaders who wouldn’t otherwise have access. This helps raise up church leaders and facilitate planting new churches. Additionally, regular programming helps equip ministers of the Word, missionaries and teachers with encouragement to continue to spread the gospel in some of the world’s most isolated regions.

TWR President Lauren Libby shares his thoughts on the vital leadership development initiative: “Leaders are necessary to accomplish anything. A leader is someone who exerts influence over a process or a task to be accomplished. Leadership is the ability to motivate others toward a common goal. Trans World Radio is committed to the development of leaders both within TWR and outwardly in the Body of Christ. Internally, we have embarked upon training our international leaders in the principles and way of servant leadership. Through the Seminary on the Air, teaching programs and Internet materials, we are committed to seeing the new leaders of the future equipped to shepherd and steward His people.”

TWR is committed to continuing its leadership development priority in the future. Some ways this will be implemented include continuing to expand the global reach of our North American ministry partners; distributing Radio Church Kits to house church networks in China; airing solid discipleship programs in the Middle East and other vital areas of the world; and continuing to provide seminary training to house church leaders in China through broadcasts complemented by on-the-ground training.
