God Healed Me
INDIA — "My family and I come from a non-Christian background. In spite of my efforts, I was unable to have peace.
"I started listening to the Thru the Bible radio program in the Chhattisgarhi language because I really liked the songs and teachings. They instantly attracted me to the program.
"Even though I enjoyed your program, initially it was very difficult for me to change my long-held religious convictions. Although my father was very pious in his religious beliefs, thankfully he did not stop me from listening to your program.
"A few years after I started listening to your program regularly, I became sick and weak, and was unable to work. During that depressing period, God spoke to me through your program -- I remember it was a message about healing: Jesus healed the sick and he is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. To see his miracles, it was important to believe in Jesus, repent from my sins and accept him as Lord and Savior.
"I immediately called your office and asked for prayer to be healed. That very same day, God healed me. I praised God that He heard my prayer, and I started believing and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ, reading the Bible and allowing the word of God to motivate my heart and influence my life.
"In December of that year, I repented from my sins and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior. I went to a church 23 kilometers away from my village, met the local pastor and told him my testimony.
"When my father and my brother came to know that I had accepted Jesus, they kicked me out of the house. I was very discouraged that day and shed many tears.
"That was years ago. Please continue to pray for me, that my faith in Christ will be steadfast in the face of persecution."
