Assistant System Administrator (South Africa)

The Assistant System Administrator works under the Regional Systems Administrator, running the PC Help Desk, ensuring that all software used at the Africa Regional Office (ARO) ARO is kept in one secure location and that all essential data on the servers is secure and backed up according to TWR policy. The person filling this position must maintain the office internet service and participate in the on-call schedule to ensure lost air time is kept to a minimum due to computer problems. In addition, records must be kept of all ARO software licenses and stored securely. To fill the requirements of this job, training in IT/IS would be a great advantage. Minimum requirement is a high school diploma. One must have the ability to repair PCs, keep up to date with changes taking place in the IT industry, and do record keeping and writing of reports. MCSE courses and LINUX training are an advantage.
