For each new PH initiative and
every new language in which Women of Hope airs,
prayer groups must be established to specifically pray
for the initiative before it begins (though groups might
not be in the area of the project). A listener in Vietnam
recently wrote that he used the prayer calendar to start
a prayer group of 12 people in his church.

The Tears
in Your Heart
For nearly a decade, Project Hannah (PH) has been a catalytic
ministry for women who want to emulate Christ by spreading His
life-changing message of joy and compassion and restoring hope
in the hearts of women who greatly need it.
This issue of Hannah’s Heartbeat paints several
pictures of the women PH serves around the world through our
prayer movement and Women of Hope radio program—as
well as those who serve as PH producers or volunteers. These
women are Jesus’ hands and feet in remote villages across
Asia, Africa, South America and Eastern Europe, often putting
their lives at risk in countries closed to Christianity. Their
passion and resolve to reach out to their sisters by listening
to their pain, praying, laughing and weeping with them has deeply
touched my life.
Enkelejda, our Albanian producer, is just one example; she embodies
the devotion of PH team members worldwide who spend their lives
and expand their talents to help women engulfed by hatred and
abuse.
Shortly before the Lord took her home, I was at the bedside
of that prayer warrior in Paraguay (see page 2). It’s
amazing what an ordinary woman who dared to do the extraordinary
accomplished for God and for PH! You see, prayer really can
change the world! Who will continue her ministry of gathering
100 more women intercessors–perhaps you in your area?
How these women and others have been blessed by God! He is using
them in ways beyond what we could imagine and rewarding them
with lasting fruit. Reports worldwide from women, men and youth
tell how God is drawing them to Himself through PH and helping
them rise above the age-old prejudices ingrained in the very
fabric of many cultures. And, by His grace, God uses each of
us—our talents and time, our prayers and passion, our
generosity in giving to bring about encouragement and joy in
otherwise hopeless situations.
Today, I challenge you: let your heart be broken as you read
these words of Dr. Billy Graham, one of God’s primary
agents of change:
“Let people feel the tears in your heart and the compassion
in your soul. Jesus wept over Jerusalem. ... How often do we
weep when we see poverty, abuse and suffering? As believers
we have a special responsibility to have compassion on the poor,
the sick, the oppressed, the hungry, the outcast, and those
torn by terrorism and war all over the world. You don’t
have to get up and preach… You witness by the way you
live, by your attitude–your love, care and compassion
toward people, no matter their race, religion, or ethnic background.
If we put hands and feet to the gospel message and live it out
daily, those around us will see it for what it is–the
Truth that transforms.”
What a challenge for you and me! Come—join God in what
He’s doing through PH as he wipes away all tears and turns
sorrow into joy.
