Message from Marli
July 8, 2008
Dear friend,
Thank you for bending your heart and knees as we pray together this month. Jesus said that everything we ask in His name will be given unto us. We know this to be true, but sometimes the mountains before us seem too high and we do not have the “mustard-seed-like” faith to say: “Mountain, get out of my way!” May God help us to cling to Jesus’ promise that our faith in His power, expressed by our intercessory prayer, will cause our mountains to move!
Women in China, the most populous country in the world, face mountainlike challenges daily. Both ancient traditions and modern progress continue to denigrate them. Many resort to suicide to escape a life of hopelessness and indignity. Their value comes not from who they are, but from what they do and how they do things. As we uplift millions of Chinese women, we are praying strategically for a nation that desperately needs the light of the gospel. Let’s believe that the liberating power of God will unshackle Chinese women from fear and sin so they will choose life, not death, today.
Let’s also pray especially for thousands of parents who lost their only children during the terrible earthquake several months ago. Their high mountain of grief and pain will be there years into the future. Most of these mothers do not know God, and they face this terrible, cold mountain on their own. May those who know the Lord reach out and comfort them. Pray for Project Hannah’s ministry to wipe away their tears and bring them to Jesus.
If it were submitted to God’s rule, China could use its emerging power and influence, its ancient and rich culture as a beacon of hope and righteousness in this world. Thankfully, from the island of Guam, TWR’s powerful transmitters blanket the country every day with the message of life, hope and salvation in Jesus. And Project Hannah’s radio program Women of Hope is influencing whole families and transforming lives.
Would you pray with us in confidence, dear friend? No matter how high or how big the mountain of physical, emotional and spiritual suffering women face–it will be removed!
Thank you for doing this most important work of prayer with us.
In His grip of grace,
