Project Hannah, which takes its name from the biblical woman, Hannah (1 Sam. 1:1-28), was founded in 1997 by Awareness Advocate Marli Spieker. Marli and her husband, Edmund, were Trans World Radio missionaries in Asia when God impressed upon her the many women who are trapped in spiritual, cultural, and physical bondage.

Heart to Heart

January 2002 - Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord unto me!
I would like to take a few moments to celebrate God's love and faithfulness to us, and also the love and faithfulness of those who have prayed and financially supported PH's ministry for the past four years.

In November, Project Hannah hosted "Celebration of Love," a beautiful event in which we remembered the love and faithfulness of the Lord with many of our prayer partners. This was also the day we broke PH's annual 40 days of fasting and prayer in Cary, NC. Love and faithfulness...two words which describe God's essence. "God is love" and "His faithfulness reaches to the skies," so says the Bible.

That evening, Carol Cymbala's song, He's Been Faithful, was presented magnificently! It describes God's unchanging love and enduring faithfulness toward broken people who need His healing touch. Here are the words:

"In my moments of fear, through every pain, every tear, there's a God who's been faithful to me. When my strength was all gone, when my heart had no song still in love He's proved faithful to me. Every word He's promised, is true. What I thought was impossible, I see my God do. He's been faithful to me. Looking back, His love and mercy I see. Though in my heart I have questioned, even failed to believe, yet, He's been faithful, faithful to me.

"When my heart looked away the many times I could not pray, still my God He was faithful to me. The days I spent so selfishly, reaching out for what pleased me, even then God was faithful to me. Every time I come back to Him, He is waiting with open arms and I see once again. He's been faithful to me. Looking back His love and mercy I see. Though in my heart I have questioned even failed to believe, yet, He's been faithful, faithful to me."

Because of His faithfulness, your prayers have softened our listeners' hearts to receive God's healing touch. Your financial support has enabled us to broadcast innovative programs which have been endorsed by government officials for their impact on women's lives. Your prayers have caused the plight of women who live in utter repression and spiritual darkness to be exposed to the world by the secular media in a manner that PH's awareness program could never have done. Christians around the globe are praying for these women today as never before.

Women of Hope programs are giving women encouragement and hope, and we receive many letters like this one from Papua New Guinea:

"Today's topic on depression really touched me. I am a victim of a broken marriage, scared of remarrying and afraid that I might not be able to bear children. I have sleepless nights, am always worried, sad and downhearted. The feeling of emptiness never leaves me. Even when I pray, it is always there. I cannot trust anyone to share my pain. Please pray for me. You may never know how many women you have brought hope to through your programs. Thank you!" Let's stand firm in God's Word, for "Great is His Faithfulness."
