Project Hannah, which takes its
name from the biblical woman, Hannah (1 Sam. 1:1-28),
was founded in 1997 by Awareness Advocate Marli Spieker.
Marli and her husband, Edmund, were Trans World Radio
missionaries in Asia when God impressed upon her the many
women who are trapped in spiritual, cultural, and physical
bondage.

Heart to
Heart
April 2002 - Who are these?
I sat in church listening to the reading of Revelation 7:9 and
10. With my eyes closed I saw the “great multitude which
no one could count, from every tribe, nation, peoples and tongues...”
And the question reverberated in the walls of my spirit.“Who
are these?”
“These” will be those who “have washed their
robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” “These”
will certainly include women who used to wear dirty, ragged
clothes, or sexy dresses in the red light districts of this
world, but because they heard Jesus’ call, they’ll
be standing before Him in glory! Tears streamed down my face
as my heart cried out, “God...There are millions of them!
Help us bring them to YOU before is too late!”
“Who are these?” They are all around us. We see
them, walking on the streets in our cities, on television, everywhere!
They remain prisoners of a twisted society living as slaves
not knowing that Jesus came to set them free. The account in
Revelation 7 reveals how God forgives, qualifies, restores,
leads, cares, and comforts those who have put their trust in
Jesus.
It is high time for Christians to work together against the
evil surrounding these women. We need to join hearts and hands.
We need to partner in this holy “work” of prayer
and proclamation. Of prayer because it releases God’s
power to destroy the works of the devil. Let’s not forget
that Jesus came to set “these” captives free. And
of proclamation because “how shall they believe in whom
they have not heard?” (Rom.10:14)
To these forgotten women, who live in ignorance, exploited as
objects of greed and lust, Christ’s message of hope through
radio is enabling them to withstand Satan’s attacks and
face their circumstances with strength, hope, and faith! This
redemptive work can only be done if we, who have been set free
by His power, will come out of our comfort zones and join hands
and hearts in partnership.
I hear many women say that they are not gifted for such a ministry.
But you know, sitting in church that morning it occurred to
me that God’s love is everything but conventional! He
surprises the religious establishment by working through people
who are disqualified by human standards. Jesus said that He
came to “seek and find the lost, the sinners, and the
sick.” Eternity will be filled with surprises because
“many who are first will be last; and the last first.”
What a surprise it will be to know that through our prayers,
our compassion and our giving, we have ushered some of “these”
dear women into God’s Kingdom! I pray you and I will see
Scripture fulfilled that great day when “...they shall
hunger no more...and the Lamb shall guide them to springs of
water of life; and when God shall wipe every tear from their
eyes!”
“Who are these?” We can be part of the answer to
this question! Amazing!
