Let the Nations Be Glad!

Since its publication a decade ago, Let the Nations Be Glad! has provided thousands of seminary students, missionaries and pastors with a sound theological foundation for missions. This revised and expanded edition, published by Baker, contains updated references to contemporary literature and debates and new illustrations and quotations. Also new is a chapter containing John Piper's reflections on New Testament worship as an inner reality more than an external form.

Though Jesus commands believers to make disciples of all nations, John Piper contends in Let the Nations Be Glad! that we should not serve in missions as a result of duty, but out of the overflow of our worship. “[Piper] provides here a biblically insightful nudge that confronts the smallness of our worldview with the global greatness of God’s passion for the lost,” says Joseph Stowell, president of Moody Bible Institute.
