Speaking Hope to the World

TWR Prison Ministry in Côte D'Ivoire

main_image:

A group of women from a Project Hannah prayer group recently visited a prison in Côte d’Ivoire. This particular group feels called to reach prisoners with the gospel as well as to minister to the practical needs of the people they encounter.

Ivoirian prisons are overcrowded and the living conditions are terrible. Malnutrition is a serious issue and family members are encouraged to bring food to supplement the prisoners’ diets.

Another problem is the stigma that is attached to prisons. The majority of inmates are neglected by the government and rejected by their communities.

The Project Hannah group distributed sandwiches and water to the prisoners. They also handed out tracts under the supervision of the local police commissioner. He said that he was touched by what these women had done and that it would have a big impact in the prisoners’ lives. He also invited them to return at any time.

Praise God for the ministry of Project Hannah and the way He is using these women to shine Christ's light into people's lives. Pray for opportunities to visit more prisons. Pray that the prisoners will accepts the Word of God as truth.
