A few weeks ago, two of TWR-Asia’s staff members were here for training with the Finance team at our office in Cary, North Carolina. I had the joy of meeting Samantha, TWR-Asia’s newest staff member and director of finance, and Lindawati (who goes by Linda), TWR-Asia senior accountant. Samantha, married with two children, is Singaporean, and Linda, an Indonesian, resides with her husband in Singapore.
It was fun going to lunch with these ladies at a local Asian restaurant. Yes, they chose Chinese food. The manager of this establishment is Chinese from the city of Xiamen, and our waitress was Taiwanese. I introduced the ladies to each other, and they began to communicate in Chinese. What a small world! Their exuberance in this conversation encouraged all of us, even those of us who were only observers. We even had the opportunity to share our faith and describe TWR’s ministry.
Truly, TWR is a global family, but most important is the bond we share as brothers and sisters in Christ. The sweet fellowship we experienced with Samantha and Linda, and others of our worldwide team who come to Cary for meetings, reminds me of the Apostle Paul’s words to the Roman Christians: For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them… (Romans 12:3-6 ESV).
Samantha contacted TWR after reading about the finance director position on a job website. Linda pursued a job with TWR after reading a posted advertisement. Both of these ladies are using their gifts and talents for the glory of God, and we’re grateful that they’re part of the TWR team!
