During the warm summer months, the TWR-Nepal team would sweat in their studio because their little air conditioner needed to be turned off for each recording. At the January 16, 2011, dedication of the new TWR-Nepal studio, the TWR-Nepal Executive Director Simon Subba said, “God has answered our sweating.”
TWR Area Director Ann Chastain represented TWR International at the dedication ceremony. As Ann recently wrote, “Why on earth am I going to Nepal? I’ve been asked to attend the dedication service for the new TWR-Nepal studio that was just completed. God chose to bless a TWR friend of mine with a heart to support this amazing work, and he saw a need to expand the studio from one 6 by 8 feet room to a two-story building. The end result will be expanded ministry like never before!”
Ann, in her recent e-mail message to me, described this commemorative occasion:
Over 200 people were present, and everyone was sitting on the floor. My title was “Chief Guest.” After the two-hour ceremony, they asked me and Vijay Kumar, who mentored the team, to cut the little red ribbon on the front door—a true honor! A dedication prayer was offered. After that, people toured the [new] studio, listening to the clear sounds. Eyes were gazing in all directions. It’s a little miracle studio that will touch the country. The programming is currently aired over 38 stations.
I had private time with Project Hannah’s Women of Hope leaders. They’re plugging away touching on the big issues of domestic violence, rape, sex trafficking, forced labor and emotional issues from a biblical perspective. They have a vision for their land, as I learned when one of the leaders showed me her Power Point—really touching. Pray for the women to reach the women.
I then ate a tiny bit of food out in the field with goats and stray dogs all around. Cow dung was just feet away. Children were playing and leaders were talking.
They’re so happy, thrilled, and feeling the blessing of the Lord in their lives and the care God has for their people. It’s been so touching. In a land of 29 million, with a 6-million increase by 2020, TWR is positioned to expand for the glory of God.
In her closing comment, Ann wrote: “I’m grateful to be a witness at this time in Nepal.” We’re glad you’re there, too, Ann.
