TWR INTERNSHIPS
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of college level study or have the equivalent work experience.
- Interns—like missionaries—must raise support. The amount is usually between three to five thousand dollars. This figure includes their personal living allowance, taxes, round trip airfare and—in some cases—rent. TWR provides partnership development coaching and resources for interns raising support.
- Students not carrying international health insurance coverage will need to secure international health coverage if their internship involves any travel overseas.
- Paperwork required by TWR before approval and assignment includes:
- Preliminary Questionnaire and resume/portfolio
- Application
- Medical History (no doctor required)
- Reference Request form (we then contact the references)
- Christian Life Questionnaire
Overview:
Positions available vary from year to year depending on current needs. The possible locations for assignment include: Austria, Benin, Bonaire, Bratislava Slovakia, Cary NC, the Netherlands, South Africa and Swaziland. These are all well-established sites with TWR teams in place.
Interns experience on-the- job training that relates to their field of interest/study while meeting a real need. Most internships last about 8-12 weeks and during that time interns can expect a 40 - 50 hour week. TWR provides professional mentoring during the internship, including bi-weekly progress reports and final evaluations of both the intern and the supervisor. Additionally, TWR will gladly complete any internship paperwork required by the student's college/university, allowing them to receive credit for the experience toward their degree; however, it is not a requirement that a student receive college credit in order to participate in an internship.
TWR provides on-site transportation (if applicable) and furnished housing for all interns. Only clothing and personal items need to be brought. A Frequently Asked Questions document that is location specific is provided for each intern upon acceptance into the program.
