TRANS WORLD RADIO INTERNSHIPS
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of college level study or have the equivalent work experience.
- Interns—like missionaries—must raise support for the summer. The amount is usually between three to four thousand dollars. This figure includes their personal living allowance and round trip airfare. Trans World Radio will give them assistance in this. Students not carrying international health insurance coverage will need to raise additional support to be covered through TWR's insurance.
- Paperwork required by TWR before approval and assignment includes:
- a preliminary questionnaire and resume
- short-term application
- medical history (no doctor required)
- reference request form (we then contact the references)
- doctrinal questionnaire
Overview:
Positions available vary from year to year depending on current needs. The possible locations for assignment include: Guam, Swaziland, Bonaire, Austria, South Africa, Bratislava, Slovakia, Singapore and the Netherlands. These are all well-established sites with sizable TWR teams in place.
Interns experience on-the- job training that relates to their field of interest/study while meeting a real need, often filling in for missionary families on furlough. Most internships last about 10-12 weeks and during that time interns can expect a 40 - 50 hour week. TWR will gladly complete any internship paperwork required by the student's college/university, allowing them to receive credit for the experience toward their degree; however, it is not a requirement that a student receive college credit in order to participate in an internship. TWR provides on-site transportation (if applicable) and furnished housing for all interns. Only clothing and personal items need to be brought.
