Meet Stanley

Stanley Winston Norman Charleston Stand IV–you can call him Stanley—is the smartest microphone stand you’ll ever meet. Stanley loves to read and has studied all sorts of things. Marco can’t understand why he didn’t pick up more exciting interests, but he still thinks Stanley’s cool. Just a strange, so-uncool-he’s-cool, kind of cool.

Made in London, England, Stanley was the middle stand-child of five siblings–the other four sisters. Stanley never decided what he wanted to do when he grew up. He just wanted to learn everything he could. Due to a rare metal fatigue disorder, Stanley was sick most of his childhood, so he was into museums and libraries, reading and studying. He graduated from college, later moved to America to work for PBS and then traveled the world helping with documentaries for history classes.

How Marco Met Stanley
While making the first ionospheric survey trip for GO!Kids, Marco met Stanley. Stanley wasn’t the exciting thrill-seeker you see today– really, he’s gotten better–so he was in Australia studying the migratory habits of the Aboriginal Cave Snail. Marco told Stanley all about GO!Kids and Trans World Radio’s work with children. Throwing all caution to the wind, Stanley left his Cave Snail Team and went back to America with Marco to help narrate GO!Kids.
