Biography

In October of 2009, Shawn was introduced to TWR at the Moody Bible Institute’s annual mission’s conference while attending a seminar by Chris and Heather Johnson on media in missions. Shawn immediately sensed God calling him to explore opportunities with TWR, initially seeking to fulfill an internship. After God twice closed the door on an internship, Shawn and Laura inquired about long-term ministry opportunities, believing God was working in them to step out in faith as career missionaries. TWR presented Shawn with an opportunity to serve in the Marketing and Communications department in Europe. The more the Boyds learned about TWR’s ministry and their fit in it, the more they were certain of God’s leading.

Shawn and Laura are now missionary appointees to TWR-Europe where Shawn will be the Content Editor in the Marketing and Communications Department. Laura will be focusing her attention on caring for Savannah, Donovan, and Brooklyn.

While the Boyd family prayerfully seeks ministry partners, Shawn is finishing a degree in Communications–Print Media at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago while Laura continues teaching 5th grade in their community.
