Pedrito el Pulpo (Little Peter the Octopus) is broadcast every week for 15 minutes in both North and Latin America. Featuring a puppet, Pedrito, the program is produced by TWR-Venezuela staff for Spanish-speaking children between the ages of 5 and 13--but adults listen as well. Broadcasts include dramatized stories, taken from the lives of actual children, that incorporate biblical application and ethics.
Because many families are poor and even struggle to feed their children, TWR is facilitating the distribution of a kit of school supplies that includes an illustrated story and cassette tape of Pedrito el Pulpo. Since God is welcomed in Venezuela’s schools, Pedrito el Pulpo has opened a door that brings the light of God’s Word, and teachers are freely presenting the gospel. The annual cost for airtime for two 15-minute Pedrito el Pulpo programs per week from TWR-Bonaire (one to Cuba and one to Venezuela), as well as the production costs and distribution in Venezuela and to other Latin American countries, is $25,925. Combined with the cost for the school kits ($14,000 per year), the total cost of the project is $39,925 per year. We ask that you prayerfully consider how God might use you to help meet this need.
