Ministry Projects Purpose: Evangelism and Discipleship Strengthening Families in Latin America
Latin American cities are plagued by multiple problems: drug addicts and drug trafficking, homeless children, poverty, violence, suicide, homosexuality and the trafficking of women and children in prostitution. The syncretizing of different religious beliefs, including those of New Age and postmodernism, leave little room for God. The media is saturated with violence, and little is done in the way of proclaiming the gospel. It is urgent to provide a way for entire families not only to have their spiritual needs met but also to introduce them to the transforming message of Christ.
TWR is helping to meet the needs of Spanish-speaking families in Latin America through radio programs specially designed for them. Programs like Matters for Women (Cosas de Nosotras) are addressing the needs of wives and mothers. Other programs, like Rebuilding the Family (Integración Familiar), include interviews with Christian medical doctors, pastors, family therapists and marriage counselors. Topics ranging from marriage and parenting to sexuality and finances are discussed so that listeners receive practical answers to their questions.
