Ministry Projects Purpose: Evangelism and Discipleship Growing Disciples in Latin America

Latin American culture is permeated with religious tradition, but often it is devoid of a real relationship with Christ. And anyone who is knowledgeable of the political, economic, and spiritual situation in Latin America would agree that Cuba and Venezuela are “linchpin” countries in this region. TWR has the capacity to reach these two countries, as well as other large parts of Latin America, with the gospel of Jesus Christ from our superpower radio station on Bonaire.

TWR-Bonaire provides the greatest coverage in Venezuela from any one location. Plus, Bonaire offers the greatest strategic opportunity to reach Cuba. To disciple and train believers, TWR utilizes radio programming, correspondence courses and on-the-ground seminars. For example, Messages of Faith and Hope for Cuba is a five-minute daily program produced by Cuban believers. The Cuban producers know how to speak to their own people about the issues and problems they face, pointing them to faith and hope in Christ. Response to this short program has been phenomenal.

Every weekday morning, Venezuelan listeners start their day with Jesus through Despertar RTM (Waking up with TWR), a 60-minute program using music and devotionals to introduce people to Jesus in a warm way. This program receives thousands of responses, and has become a morning tradition in many Venezuelan families.

Leaders receive practical training from TWR Bible School, a weekly 15-minute program introducing and publicizing a formal study course that delivers solid biblical training to pastors and lay leaders.

Intellectuals learn how to apply the Bible to modern issues through a program called Tierra Firme (Solid Ground). And all can learn the Bible verse by verse through The Radio Bible in Spanish.

The costs for these programs is $198 for 15 minutes, which includes everything from their translation, adaptation, and production to the actual broadcast time. Given that there is a potential audience of tens of millions of people for each program, your gift of $198 to TWR for 15 minutes, $396 for 30 minutes, or even $792 for a full hour’s worth of programs is an investment with a high return!
