Ministry Projects : Myanmar Outreach

Within the past decade, Myanmar has been impacted by two significant natural disasters–the tsunami in 2004 and Cyclone Nargis in 2008. Even as the people of Myanmar try to recover a sense of normalcy years after the disasters have passed, a void still exists that only God can fill. They need Jesus to bind their hurts and make them whole again.
TWR is reaching out to the youth and women of Myanmar with the Word of God. Through the following projects, TWR ministers to the general population, as well as the Sgaw Karen ethnic group, with programs in their heart languages but not limited to the following:
-
Youth Programs in the Myanmar and Sgaw Karen languages impart biblical teachings and morals, using Bible stories and parables to share the Christian faith with youthful listeners – many of whom have not yet come to Christ. The magazine format with sermons, song dedications, and Bible teaching is attractive to the young demographic of both people groups. These 15-minute programs are broadcast weekly on shortwave radio.
-
The Women of Hope programs in the Myanmar and Sgaw Karen languages cater to the needs of women in Myanmar, especially those living in the countryside. The programs provide useful, practical teaching on subjects such as personal care and care for children, while also sharing God’s love, care and mercy.
Please consider financially supporting this ministry with a gift of $100 or more so that the people in Myanmar may experience the hope and peace of Jesus Christ.
