Ministry Projects : Solid Ground Spanish Radio Program
For many years, intellectuals have not been a focus of evangelistic outreach in Latin America. As a result, many live in the same spiritual state as their countrymen who are poorer and less sophisticated—lost and doomed to an eternity without Christ. This segment of Latin American society includes those who have reached material success and prestige and maintain a higher standard of living than most of their counterparts, as well as university students and teenagers interested in specific cultural situations. Their level of success may have brought them esteem, but it also has blinded their eyes to the truths of God’s Word.
TWR is providing a means for intellectuals in Latin America to be challenged by God’s Word through a unique program called Solid Ground (Tierra Firme), a 30-minute weekly program produced by TWR-Uruguay. In this program, Christianity is presented as having the answer to all aspects of human life, including culture, the arts, literature and social problems. Solid Ground tackles current themes in which Christians should give their position: abortion, divorce, homosexuality, politics, ecology and others. These themes are analyzed from a journalistic, philosophical and ethical point of view. The program hosts also confront questions about human suffering, freedom and death.
