Ministry Projects : The Radio Bible in Spanish

According to Operation World, literacy in Latin America is around 85 percent, but that figure does not include the large number of people who choose not to read—preferring instead to learn through the spoken word. Functionally illiterate, these men and women may rarely pick up a book, including a Bible. The people of Latin America often think of themselves as religious, but the religion is traditional, not personal, permeating their society with ritual apart from a relationship with Jesus Christ. Too many are ignorant of the Bible and the truths it can bring into their lives.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). With this scriptural admonition in mind, TWR has partnered with Faith Comes by Hearing and the International Bible Society to reach oral communicators in the Spanish language. The Radio Bible is a daily program that uses dramatic Bible reading and discussion to help listeners understand the meaning of the passage. This simple but effective tool will be distributed to local radio stations all across the Americas. TWR plans to distribute The Radio Bible in Spanish to 50 stations in the year 2009.

Your generous donation of $120 will distribute The Radio Bible program in Spanish to a local radio station in Latin America for one full year.
