Ministry Projects : China Wholistic Media Project
Despite commendable efforts to address the HIV/AIDS issue in China, the disease continues to spread far and wide – to the point that it has been described as a pandemic.* Almost half of those infected by HIV in China are young, facing a bleak future at an early age.*
Many in China swing to one of two extremes; some take the threat of HIV/AIDS too lightly and put themselves at severe risk of infection, while others want nothing whatsoever to do with people who are infected, out of fear that they will contract it through normal social interaction.
TWR believes many youth in China who have been misinformed and harbor misconceptions about HIV/AIDS. We want to reach out to these youth, increasing awareness, understanding, prevention and the ability to cope with those who live with the disease. To best reach this young audience, TWR will be using an integrated approach, including FM radio, the Internet, and Portable Audio Players.
