Ministry Projects : TWR Maputo FM Repeater Station
After nearly 20 years of Civil War, Mozambique's people are in great need of the hope and joy that can only be found in Jesus Christ. In the capital city of Maputo, more than a million people are waiting to hear the gospel, not only in the city itself, but also in informal settlements surrounding it.
TWR's station in Maputo has had a growing ministry in the main part of Maputo, and listeners' lives have turned to the better since hearing our broadcasts. Radio Trans Mundial- Mozambique, which was established in 1989, produces 20 programs in seven languages, mostly broadcast by Radio Capital in Maputo and from community stations in Vilankulu, Homoine, Nampula, Sussundenga, Xai-Xai, Mocuba and Radio Pax-Beira.
Though our programs have been able to reach the people living within the city, the signal to the outlying areas has been less distinct. The TWR Maputo FM Repeater Project aims to erect an FM transmitter north of the city of Maputo, which will extend the reach of the station in Maputo into the Limpopo flood plains and cities like Xai-Xai. For the people who live in these distant regions, this could possibly mean the start of a life-changing experience when they are finally able to pick up the TWR signal.
Your gift can of $35 or more will help make it possible for these lives to be transformed daily by the personal love of local Christian radio.
