Ministry Projects : Turkish Radio Program for Young Adults
Turkey has one of the lowest percentages of Christians worldwide. Historically, the country has been ruled by various religions, but currently, it is illegal to religiously influence citizens under the age of 18. Young adults between ages 18 and 35 make up 60 percent of Turkey's population. They love to read and listen to stories, but few have heard the greatest story of all: the true story of Jesus Christ.
Since 2000, TWR has been airing a radio program for young adults in Turkey. One of the youth program producers states, "We are trying to do a program that would interest all of them. The one-hour program is made up of messages and short stories out of everyday life and tries to build relationship with the audience. It is important for us that young people know, even if they believe in something else [or another religion] that we care for them. We also want to get their attention through these youth programs and invite them to listen to our Christian programs ... in which they hear about the Bible and God."
In partnership with two other organizations, TWR assists an FM radio station in an undisclosed major Turkish city. This radio station, operated by local staff, produces the youth program and various other Christian radio broadcasts.
Please consider partnering with us in this important ministry reaching out to young adults in Turkey. A donation of $192 could sponsor the airtime of one episode of this practical program. A gift of any size would include you in this amazing ministry of encouragement and guidance for young people in Turkey.
