Ministry Projects : Children and Youth Programs in Lithuania
There are more than 200 orphanages in Lithuania filled with lonely children. Staff from TWR’s partner in Lithuania visit the orphanages to show the children an Easter or Christmas play, explain the real meaning of each holiday and leave them with copies of related radio programs. One of these programs is The Little Evening Star. The children are also given age-appropriate Bibles and gifts such as books, magazines and sweets. The Little Evening Star is a 30-minute weekly radio broadcast for children. Children are very involved in the production of the program, often speaking from their own hearts and in their own words. The program aims to bring the light of the Holy Word to children, develop their morals, inspire positive thoughts and help bring about positive behavior toward others. In 2006, The Little Evening Star was recognized and announced as the best radio program for children in Lithuania by the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission and Lithuania Mass Media Support Foundation.
For just $9, you can help produce and air one minute of a program. A $45 gift will provide five minutes of production and airtime. Please consider a generous gift to help change the life of a Lithuanian child today!
