Ministry Projects : Family Programs for Russia from Tartu, Estonia

According to statistics by Americans for Divorce Reform, the divorce rate (per 1000, per year) in Russia is 4.3, which ranks 4th in the world.

With so many families divided in this way, people are wondering how they can build homes, guide their children successfully into the future, and develop strong, wise relationships. Christian radio has the opportunity to communicate the spiritual values that are central to family relationships, encouraging the important role that every family member plays in creating and developing relationships. For this reason, TWR Russia began creating these family programs to help meet the needs of families.

My Home and I is a live program with discussions on family issues. The program's host, Galina Shainskaya, says, “Listening to the testimonies of my guests, I realize more and more that families can be strong only in God. That strengthens my personal faith and also encourages me and listeners on the other end.”

Family Ark is produced in cooperation with the local churches of St. Petersburg and the organization “New Life.” In this program, a married couple who are marriage consultants talk about various marital challenges. The family is an institution that helps its members learn about relationships throughout their lives. Family Ark aims to help each family member participate in his family institution.

With Love into the Future is a radio program for parents and grandparents. Russian society and its way of life make it hard for people to listen to each other. They have stopped listening to their children. Many parents are at work all day and see their children only long enough to put them to bed. Very often it is the grandparents who spend the most time with the children. With Love into the Future helps parents and grandparents have a fresh perspective on those to whom the Kingdom of Heaven belongs.
