Ministry Projects : Reaching the Roma in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus
A Roma saying goes like this: "If a Roma has accepted Christ, then the rapture will soon follow." Many find it hard to believe that a Roma would ever accept Jesus Christ as their savior, but it is happening. TWR in Ukraine has started to bring the gospel to the Russian Roma (Ruska Roma) living in Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus. The lives of the Roma, also known as gypsies, are full of difficulties, hardships and sorrows. They are typically treated like outcasts of society.
The radio program Roma Camp Moves On features a Ruska Roma pastor to not only help bring understanding and acceptance to these needy people, but also to show them how Christ can change their lives for the better. The weekly radio program will let them know that God cares for them no matter what society thinks of them.
