Ministry Projects : Project Hannah - Middle East/North Africa

More than a decade ago, Project Hannah was founded for women just like Arab women. While often veiled in appearance, they also harbor veiled hurts resulting from the low self-esteem handed to them by the surrounding culture, various forms of nelect and abuse, or never having heard of their value in Jesus Christ. As they grow, many Arab women are shackled in the silence of their pain and misery with no one to speak on their behalf, no one to listen to their needs, and no one to extend a helping and loving arm. Realizing this dire need, TWR founded Project Hannah, believing that God has the power to free and lift these women above their dreadful circumstances, restore their dignity, and make them princesses in their Father's Kingdom!

Project Hannah is, first, a prayer movement. Women in more than 100 countries meet in groups on a regular basis to pray for suffering sisters in their midst and around the world. Secondly, Project Hannah is an awareness movement, drawing attention to the importance of women in the family and society, and most importantly to the value placed on them by Jesus Christ. And third, Project Hannah produces the radio program Women of Hope, a 30-minute weekly broadcast to both teach and spiritually edify women. Each program contains a "Life Lessons" segment that teaches women about hygiene for the family, nutrition, the care and growth of children, and how to care for their own bodies. Each "Life Lesson" segment is followed by a "Soul Lesson" segment that relates this practical teaching to a biblical truth. Through these lessons that are woven together, women are introduced to Jesus Christ and the unique plan he has for each woman. Listeners find, perhaps for the first time, that they are precious to someone--to the Lord--and that they are loved.

While Women of Hope is on the air in more than 50 languages, it is only recently that God has opened the door for the program to be produced in the Arabic language. Arab women live across the 22 countries of the Arabic world, spanning Africa and the Middle East. Project Hannah's Women of Hope will meet Arab women’s spiritual needs with encouragement, practical advice, and counseling that seeks to mend their breaking hearts.
