Ministry Projects : Indonesian Children's Ministry
While Indonesia is considered the world's largest Muslim nation, there are also pockets of Christian communities in Indonesia. Some in these communities are caught in the poverty cycle, and, sadly, many Christian parents spend most of their lives working just to provide for their families. This leaves little to no time for them to guide their children. Other Christian parents have little understanding of their faith and are unable to explain or even exemplify what they profess to believe in.
As a result, the children of Indonesian believers are at risk of growing up with little to no knowledge of their faith -- let alone a personal relationship with their Savior. These children are at great risk of being lost.
TWR-Indonesia recognizes this need and seeks to address it with a two-pronged approach that builds on our strengths:
(1) VCD/DVDs - Our media capabilities in Indonesia extend beyond radio, and our video productions have been well-received. Using this capacity, we will regularly produce Christian VCD/DVDs that appeal to children, to engage and instruct them in their faith.
(2) Cell Groups - We seek to form facilitated cell groups that will meet once a month to view the children's program, as well as provide opportunities for discussion, learning and Christian fellowship. TWR-Indonesia has also developed good relationships with churches and church organizations in these areas, and together we will follow up with and minister to these children.
Our hope is that these precious children will come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Furthermore, we desire that they will grow in their faith and be witnesses for Him in their communities.
