Transmitter Technician (Guam)

Basic purpose

To provide technical services for the operation, maintenance and modification of the KTWR broadcast equipment on Guam.

Duties and responsibilities

  • View the position of the transmitter technician as a ministry to the Lord and Trans World Radio.
  • Communicate with the KTWR Chief Engineer or designated engineer, routinely updating him of project status and responsibilities.
  • Participate in the routine maintenance of the KTWR broadcast equipment.
  • Perform job assignments (routine work and projects) in a professional manner.
  • Ensure familiarization with KTWR broadcast equipment, documentation and procedures.
  • Ensure all work and testing is done with safety as a top priority.
  • Provide occasional technical support to personnel in other TWR locations.

Position specifications

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent experience with an emphasis in radio communications or power electronics, with at least one year of engineering technician experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of RF circuits, vacuum tubes, transistor circuits, logic circuits, power circuits, test equipment use and broadcast-related equipment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a warm tropical climate.
