Basic purpose
To provide engineering services for the operation, maintenance, and modification, of the KTWR broadcast equipment.
Duties and responsibilities
- View the position of the transmitter engineer as a ministry to the Lord and Trans World Radio.
- Communicate with the KTWR Chief Engineer routinely updating him of project status and routine responsibilities.
- Participate in the routine maintenance of the KTWR broadcast equipment.
- Execute job assignments (routine work and projects) in a professional manner.
- Participate in the development of long-range planning of major facility modifications.
- Investigate repetitive equipment failures.
- Ensure familiarization with KTWR broadcast equipment, documentation, and procedures.
- Provide engineering design and development plans for special projects as required.
- Provide input for the annual budget.
- Document new procedures and/or modifications to existing procedures.
- Ensure all work and testing is done with safety as a top priority.
- Provide occasional engineering support to personnel in other TWR locations.
Position specifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent with an emphasis in radio communications or power electronics with at least one year of engineering experience.
- Must have a good knowledge of RF circuits, vacuum tubes, transistor circuits, logic circuits, power circuits, test equipment use, and broadcast related equipment.
- A good mechanical aptitude is required.
- Must be able to work with colleagues from different cultures and work in a team environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must have good planning ability and exhibit sound engineering judgement.
- The ability to work indoors and outdoors in a warm tropical climate.
