Integration Engineer for Audio Systems (Europe)

Responsibilities

“Integration Engineer for Audio Systems” takes care of audio equipment and systems within the whole broadcasting chain (studio equipment, playout systems and distribution systems) of TWR-Europe. Besides evaluations of new upcoming systems (e.g. production software), close cooperation with the program producing partners and purchasing of necessary equipment, consulting, instruction and training for all involved persons plays a crucial role.

Key Task: Contributions to various elements of the broadcast chain

  • The broadcast production, storage and distribution needs of the European region (and beyond) are continuously evaluated in relation to the existing and foreseeable future technologies concerning audio systems and components.
  • Investigations are carried out with the goal to improve the reliability of the whole chain. The proposals (outcome of the investigations) are forwarded to the according system specialists at the Vienna office.

Key Task: Audio parts within the playout systems (SPDC, Internet, etc.)

  • In cooperation with the playout system responsible colleague specific hardware and software components (e.g. Audio supervision) are implemented, documented, introduced for operations, maintained and the users trained.
  • Immediate interaction is undertaken if urgent needs come up for the continued operation of the playout concerning the introduced audio components.

Key Task: Studio hardware and software within the TWR-E region

  • In close cooperation with the program producing partners continuously ways need to be found to enable the partners according their individual needs (Implementation, documentation, installation, maintenance, training).

Candidate Specifications

  • Undergraduate degree (B.A./B.S.) in Audio Engineering and Electronics or related fields. Extended experience may be substituted for education.
  • Two years experience in Audio/Studio installations and Audio electronics repair.
  • Ability to work independently and competently with MS Windows and its features, computer hardware, and basic PC maintenance (isolating problems and changing out hardware), Intermediate knowledge level.
  • Ability both physically and mentally for international traveling and work at remote places as a single person.
  • Team player with "service attitude" and flexibility in regard to work demands.
  • Ability to communicate well in English (both verbally and written) for contacts with colleagues, partners, and transmitter station personnel.
  • Active member in an evangelical church.
  • Willing to learn basic German.
  • Family able to adapt to life in Vienna (schools, church, etc.) – if applicable
  • Ability to work with and appreciate people from numerous cultures and evangelical backgrounds.
  • Acceptance as missionary by one of TWR's approved sending agencies. Acceptance process would include assessments of applicant psychologically and spiritually; including Bible knowledge, cross-cultural adjustment abilities and agreement with TWR's statement of faith, etc.
  • Be able to raise and maintain personal support, if required by the sending agency.
