Job Purpose

To develop TWR-Europe’s communications in proposal, report writing and journalism to realize the vision and goals of the Public Relations department.

Team Vision

TWR-Europe Public Relations Team looks to provide a stable infrastructure through professional (internal and external) customer service oriented team members who will provide marketing, public relations, communications, donor relations and fundraising procedures to develop an environment of predictable patterns where satisfactory returns on investment can facilitate annual planning for TWR’s European and international ministries.

Team Goals

  1. Fund Development through Northwest European “contributing” Partners; encouraging the self-sufficiency and fund development progress of Central, South and East European Partners and the active search for funding of TWR-E ministries to the Church and our Partners in Central Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.
  2. Public Relations & Marketing to help fund the ministry of TWR-Europe and TWR-International.
  3. Providing the foundation and infrastructure for TWR-Europe’s “communications-rich” culture.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Enable ministries in Trans World Radio Europe by writing proposals, grants and stewardship reports for fund development (fundraising) communications with donors and potential donors of TWR-Europe projects and programs.
  2. Support the information needs of TWR-E Partners in materials and web information development.
  3. Work as part of an integrated team who join together in varying tasks when needed to achieve team deadlines.

Candidate Specifications

The successful candidate will:

  • be an active member in an evangelical church
  • be willing to present and represent the ministry of TWR and develop a personal, spiritual and financial support base team
  • possess a university education in journalism or equivalent experience
  • exhibit excellent skills in written and spoken English as well as creative ability in writing and layout
  • have experience and skills in using and/or managing the use of appropriate tools and software
  • have the ability to give and take directions and instructions in a multi-cultural work environment
  • have good organizational skills as well as the ability to handle project management proactively and creatively
  • be able to travel occasionally to write about and connect with on-the-ground ministry
  • be able to effectively research and write about the people and ministries of TWR-Europe
  • be able to effectively liaise with TWR-US and other TWR regional offices
  • be open to the accountability and suggestions of the TWR team structure and environment. Conversely, he or she will be able to make appropriate and respectful contributions to the work and ministry of other team members
  • be willing to work within the framework of the TWR International Fund Development Philosophy (available on request)
  • be willing to continue professional training as opportunity and funds enable
  • Acceptance as missionary by one of TWR's approved sending agencies

The Public Relations Team of TWR-Europe is a multi-functioning, innovative team of specialists who create the department’s goals and strategies around enabling the ministries of TWR-Europe. The team should encourage the best possible results by working together to reach the demands and deadlines of the department.

Prayer, freedom of expression, trust and creative ideas are all necessary components in dealing with the demands and time-sensitive nature of customer service for this Kingdom-enabling work.

Key skills include computer capabilities (particularly in Microsoft Outlook & Word) and an understanding of positive customer service. Training in TWR-specific databases will be provided.

Key philosophical foundation to include an understanding of God’s mandate for the Church (Acts 1:8) and the place of Journalism and Ministry/Fund Development in the enablement of that mandate (2 Corinthians chapters 8 & 9).

TWR-E has the privilege of working in most European countries through autonomous partners. Therefore, the Public Relations Team in Europe will each look to forge relationships in their respective professions with appropriate partner staff members to mutually advise and accomplish our Lord’s ministries. The Team will thus endeavor to strengthen our collaborative work in Europe with other organizations and with our TWR offices around the world.
