Archive Music Coordinator (Europe)

Scope

Accountability

Acting “Ministry Initiatives Director”

Responsibilities

To operate a music archive system which makes music and industry information available to radio stations in the areas TWR serves.

KEY RESULT AREA: Researching and Acquiring Music

Performance Standards: The job in this area will be satisfactorily performed when:

  • Researches for available music CDs from different language groups.
  • Acquires needed music CDs as required by the Archive design and parameters.

KEY RESULT AREA: Auditioning, Categorizing and Archiving Music

Performance Standards: The job in this area will be satisfactorily performed when:

  • Auditions each song for fade points, levels, normalization and quality.
  • Categorizes the music catalogue in accordance to the directives from the Acting Ministry Initiatives Director.
  • Enters all music in the catalogue software.
  • Enters the music digitally into the computer, (embedding all the relevant data from each song into the .wav file).

KEY RESULT AREA: Distribution of the Music

Performance Standards: The job in this area will be satisfactorily performed when:

  • Transfers music into appropriate distribution method.
  • Oversees distribution to studios and stations requesting the material.

KEY RESULT AREA: Website Development

  • Assists in the development of a website to give partners access to the music database, not for web delivery of music.

Candidate Specifications

Education/Training

  • English is first language, or is highly developed and professional; both oral and written.
  • Formal training or a degree in music (desirable)
  • Liberal Arts education (desirable). Related experience may be substituted for education.

Experience

  • Background in broadcasting, sound systems, or studio production work. (Experience - one year minimum).
  • Competent musically; some musical background involving some training on an instrument or vocally; ability to read music
  • Experience in cross-cultural living outside of the homeland is desirable.
  • Experience with, Access, Cool Edit, and other broadcast automation software (Desirable)

Demonstrated Skills

  • Good awareness of the current Christian music industry, artists and styles.
  • Good basic computer skills including Word and Excel (Intermediate knowledge level)
  • Music software editing skills, desirable
  • Enjoys research and tracking down music
  • Enjoys reading and learning
  • Enjoys detail work

Physical, Visual, Mental Effort

  • Physically able to operate studio equipment.
  • Visually able to work with computer (digital editing and sound wave) programs.
  • Mentally and emotionally teachable and willing to learn.

Unique, Authentic, Qualifications

  • A team player with a “service attitude” and flexibility in regard to work demands.
  • Self starter not requiring direct daily supervision.
  • Broad musical tastes and understanding.
  • Candidate must be an active member in an evangelical church.
  • Willing to learn German.
  • Family able to adapt to life in Vienna (schools, church, etc.)
  • Ability to work with and appreciate people from numerous cultures and evangelical backgrounds.
  • Acceptance as a missionary by one of TWR’s approved sending agencies. The acceptance process would include assessments of the applicant psychologically and spiritually; including Bible knowledge, cross-cultural adjustment abilities, and agreement with TWR “Statement of Faith”, etc. Be able to raise and maintain personal support.
