China might still be considered one of the most difficult areas of the world to reach with the gospel, much less provide solid doctrine for believers. That’s where TWR’s Radio Church Kits come in.
According to statistical data provided by TWR-Asia, 57 percent of the more than 1.3 billion people in China today live in rural areas, while 43 percent are in urban centers. TWR’s Radio Church Kit (RCK) project places special emphasis on the believers in rural and mountainous areas within China who lack spiritual food and training resources. Due to the exploding growth of Chinese Christians, an acute shortage exists of full-time pastors, Bible training and discipleship materials—all of which are necessary to build a firm foundation on biblical truth. TWR-Asia has resolved to take action by providing more Radio Church Kits for Chinese believers.
A Radio Church Kit consists of a shortwave radio, a Life Application Bible, study books for Self Confrontation and Discipleship on the Air programs and a program schedule. These two broadcasts are aired 30 minutes per day, five days a week, from TWR’s transmitting station on Guam. The contents of these books and programs have become an important training resource to Chinese believers.
By God’s grace, TWR aims to distribute 2,600 Radio Church Kits by the end of May. For the second distribution period in 2007, the team plans to distribute 6,400 sets. By the end of this year, the number of RCKs distributed across China since the project began will total 81,500 kits. Though that number is large, many of TWR’s current RCK recipients are pleading for more kits to meet their growing needs.
TWR-Asia received 380 letters via mail and in-country workers between January and March from those who received Radio Church Kits. Below is a sample of some of those responses.

I especially like the way it teaches me how to memorize the Scripture. Also it is good to hear testimonies on the radio. This really helps my spiritual walk with the Lord.”
“I especially thank TWR and all the brothers and sisters overseas who are supporting our churches. In recent years, our church has been growing very fast and the numbers of believers grew. However, some of the brothers and sisters cannot attend our meetings. With your Radio Church Kits, they can listen to your programs at home and receive spiritual nourishment.”
“Our coworkers here need a lot of programs, like what the Radio Church Kits can provide us. They like the Bible study broadcasts because the explanations are very helpful to them in preparation for their sermons. With the radio, they can listen to the programs wherever they go with the help of the schedule. They all love the Radio Church Kits. However, there are still a lot more coworkers who need these sets, and we hope to receive more next time to cater to their needs.”
