The aftermath from the March 15 series of explosions from a weapons depot near Tirana, Albania, continues to leave survivors shaken. Shrapnel and artillery shells destroyed more than 300 homes in nearby villages, and by March 19, 19 people were reported dead. More than 350 are injured and an additional 50 are still missing.

"In a few minutes, they were without homes, without clothes, without basic needs,” she said. “We’ve been working with our other partner organizations to show our love for them, not just by our words but by our deeds."

The staff of nine has been providing on-the-ground assistance in addition to radio broadcasts. TWR-Albania produces programs in Albanian, including Thru the Bible and Women of Hope. In response to the current situation, Gospel Waves developed a new program titled The Answers: When the Whole World is Shaking to offer comfort in the midst of confusion.

As rescuers continue to search for survivors, TWR-Albania seeks to offer hope. “From the very beginning, we've been recording the interviews of people,” said Kumaraku, “not just giving the sad stories, but trying to really tell people that God has a plan for their lives and for the country, and His plan is going to be fulfilled.”
