Business Administrator (Bonaire)

Scope:

Assist the TWR-Bonaire Station Manager by ensuring smooth business processes and compliance with local government requirements. Tasks may include, but are not limited to, translating and writing in Dutch and English, staying current with changing government requirements and ensuring compliance in administrative areas such as immigration, licensing, statistics, labor, taxes and registrations. In addition to normal administrative tasks in the TWR-Bonaire office, the Bonaire Business Administrator will interface with local government offices and businesses as required and help maintain good working relationships and understanding in the community.

Objective:

To promote the highest level of integrity and compliance with the Bonaire government and community ensuring a witness for Christ and for the Gospel that is above reproach.

Accountabilities and Reports:

Reports to the Station Manager of TWR-Bonaire

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and oversee all aspects of Business Operations of TWR-Bonaire
  • Understand and oversee finance processes to ensure accuracy and correctness
  • Translate government correspondence from Dutch into English and ensure that correct action is taken
  • Interact with government and business offices as necessary
  • Administer contracts
  • Prepare and submit reports in Dutch or English as required by local and national laws
  • Investigate tax obligations and ensure correctness of reporting and tax payments
  • File, retain and retrieve business information as required
  • Track all reporting, filing, and application deadlines and ensure that obligations are met in a timely manner

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four year graduate degree in Business or related field, or equivalent
  • Experience in an administrative position
  • Good degree of computer aptitude and Microsoft Office literate
  • Capacity to quickly learn new software and procedures
  • Bilingual - English and Dutch
  • Cross-cultural experience a plus
